Reflection
Over the course of my first english class at college, which is UNIV150, I have made several realizations. English composition was never exactly my favorite part of high school; however at this moment, I feel more confident and less spiritless about writing essays in general. Even though this was only a semester of english, I got a better sense of how good writing gets written. First of all, I found that a writer should have his/her writing strengths and weaknesses put into consideration. Then, some adequate practice should be done according to those weaknesses. This self assessment helped me out as a writer. For the most part, I realized my weaknesses when I got feedback on my essays in this course and my papers in other courses as well. Also, peer review that was carried out in the UNIV150 class helped me out not only in noticing my mistakes, but also in spotting mistakes of others. From my weaknesses, word choice and lack of enough examples are my biggest problems. Throughout my essays, I have tried to adjust these problems. Of course I have observed progress from essay to the next by taking my weak points into consideration. I have tried to transform my weak points into strong ones. My instructor helped us out by providing a study hall (that was required). But, actually I was glad that it was mandatory because it helped and guided me through. I hope that I will be able to enhance my writing more and more throughout my college years. Writing is like a building block; it is the essence of writing an informative text, a book for study purposes, or even an intriguing novel. I hope that I can make my way and build my own blocks of writing.
